We want to present the 35 tools to be a better writer. We are very much of having the feeling or nature that to write you simply need a piece of paper, a pen and a dose of inspiration. WRITING AND EDITING
SCRIVENER
If you don’t know Scrivener, you have to know him. It is one of the programs par excellence for writers. It allows you to generate notes to document and have organized all the information about your next book. It helps you in crafting a timeline to structure your novel. You can create tiles to define characters and work on the depth of them. It is so wide and so versatile that you can use it in a thousand ways, adapting the program perfectly to each writer. ULYSSES
It’s the app I use for writing everything. Yes, everything. I think it is a very complete and powerful solution that I have to analyze in greater detail in an independent article. Ulysses deserves it. For me it is perfect and meets all the demands I have as a writer. I can’t ask you for much more. It combines to a simple text writing tool the power of markdown language, proofreading and style suggestions, the analytics of every written text and a perfect text organizer for any editorial project. All this synchronized in real time in the cloud –iCloud– and cross-platform. You can carry your texts in real time on your Mac, iPhone and iPad. It has two very big cons. The first of them is that it is not a free tool but an annual subscription and the second aspect that will throw many of you back is that it is only available as I mentioned previously for the Apple ecosystem. It has no app on Windows or Android.
OMMWRITER
Connect with your thoughts and with the writer in you. Bring out your essence and your best ideas. Ommwriter is perfect for it. It frees you from any distractions and puts you focused on what’s really important. Write and connect with your thoughts. To do this, it creates a very thoughtful environment in a natural way and even has music lists designed to help you in your creative process. Draw a direct line between your thoughts and words.
Grammar Check
Grammar check also checks for errors in spelling, punctuation, style, and other areas. When writing anything that will be read by an audience, it is imperative to establish well-formed thoughts, ideas, and words. The only quicker or more effective way to conduct a general review of a piece of writing is to use this online grammar checker. It is uncomplicated, quick, and free.
When it comes to confirming work and highlighting any issues, our free grammar checker online is a crucial tool that is quick, convenient, and effective. Making sure reports or articles go through this straightforward phase is crucial since a writer can have a significant impact later on by making small corrections before submission.
GOOGLE DOCS
We’ve gone from a very specific tool for writers to Google Docs. Why? Simple. This tool has the power and simplicity of working collaboratively. If you want a proofreader, your editor or a friend to work together on your idea or shape some text, it is the best tool we could think of. Apart from supporting a work in real time you can also leave comments so it is very useful for the creative and writing process. Unity makes strength. It’s a way to share your future book intelligently with the people you care about.
STACKEDIT
StackEdit is a tool that uses the power of the Markdown language. If you have not tried to write under that language and you are regulars to write online we strongly recommend it, since the flow of publishing on several platforms is really simple (for example WordPress or Blogger). This tool also allows us to take texts on the web without losing the format or export texts that we have written in .html.
DRAFT DOCS
It is an extension that connects to services like Google Docs. Draft Docs is a word processor that is accessed from any browser and allows you to do many things. You can use it as a document change control tool or as a collaborative tool to see the changes made by other people such as your editor. You can write about texts already published on any web page, identifying the changes made by you. You can even proceed to the transcription of videos and other types of multimedia documents. We think it is a tool that well used can be very useful.
